First produced in 1936 the Fieseler Fi-156 Storch was the brainchild of renowned aerial acrobatic competitor, and World War One fighter ace, Gerhard Fieseler. The first Fi-156 V1 had a top speed of only 109 mph, but had an extremely slow stall speed of 32 mph. Its length was 32 feet 6 inches; had a wingspan of 46 feet 9 inches, was 10 feet 0 inches in height, had a weight of 1,900 pounds empty and was 2,780 pounds loaded. Its combat radius was 240 miles, and had service ceiling of 17,060 feet) The V2, V3, V4 and V5 prototypes and ten A-0 pre-production aircraft followed the V1.
